Descripci\u00f3n<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Espa\u00f1ol:<\/strong> M33, la Galaxia del Tri\u00e1ngulo o “Pinwheel Galaxy”, es una galaxia con un tama\u00f1o aparente considerable. A pesar de su magnitud (5.7), ese tama\u00f1o le imparte cierto grado de dificultad para observarse en telescopios, aunque es visible a simple vista desde sitios significativamente obscuros que ofrezcan, a la misma vez, cielos despejados y transparentes. Cuando se observa a trav\u00e9s de un telescopio, se puede distinguir casi toda el \u00e1rea que cubren sus espirales como una enorme regi\u00f3n difusa, de forma ovalada e irregular, rodeando un centro que, por su parte, se ve bastante redondo, e igualmente irregular. Esta galaxia ofrece otros detalles en telescopios peque\u00f1os. As\u00ed, por ejemplo, se distingue, con facilidad, NGC 604, una de sus nubes de formaci\u00f3n de estrellas (o regiones de HII), que est\u00e1 se\u00f1alada con un par de rayas en el dibujo. La magnitud de este objeto es 11, y se ve casi como una diminuta estrella difusa dentro de la regi\u00f3n de los espirales. La otra regi\u00f3n HII que se distingue est\u00e1 se\u00f1alada con una flecha (casi imperseptible en el dibujo), y se muestra, igualmente, casi estelar. Esta \u00faltima podr\u00eda ser NGC 595.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

English:<\/strong> M33, the Triangulum or Pinwheel Galaxy, is a galaxy of considerable –apparent– size. Despite its 5.7 magnitude, its large size makes it somewhat difficult to see in small to mid-size telescopes, but it’s relatively easy to see to the naked eye from dark sites that offer both clear and transparent skies. When viewed through a telescope, it is possible to distinguish most of the area covered by its spiral arms as a huge diffuse region, oval and irregular in shape, surrounding a center that looks quite round and irregular as well. This galaxy offers other details in small telescopes. For example, NGC 604, one of its star-forming clouds (or HII regions), can be easily seen; it’s is marked with a couple of lines in the sketch. NGC 604 is an 11th magnitude object that looks almost like a tiny fuzzy star inside the spiral arms. The other distinguishable HII region is pointed with an arrow and its appearance is almost stellar. The latter could be NGC 595.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cometarios de Messier en 1771:<\/strong> La noche del 25 al 26 de agosto de 1764, descubr\u00ed una nebulosa entre la cabeza del Pez boreal y el gran Tri\u00e1ngulo, a poca distancia de una estrella que no era conocida, de sexta magnitud, de la cual determin\u00e9 la posici\u00f3n; la ascenci\u00f3n recta de esta estrella fue de 22\u00b0<\/span> 7′ 13″, y su declinaci\u00f3n de 29\u00b0<\/span> 54′ 10″ boreal: junto a esta estrella, hab\u00eda otra que es la primera del Tri\u00e1ngulo, designada con la letra b. Flamsteed la marca, en su cat\u00e1logo, de la sexta magnitud; es menos bella que aquella de la cual he dado su posici\u00f3n, y se debe colocar en el rango de las estrellas de octava clase. La nebulosa es una luz blancuzca de 15 minutos de di\u00e1metro, de una densidad casi igual a todos lados, sin embargo un poco m\u00e1s luminosa a dos tercios de su di\u00e1metro; no contiene ninguna estrella: se ve dif\u00edcilmente con un anteojo ordinario de un pie. La compar\u00e9 con la estrella \u03b1 del Tri\u00e1ngulo, y con aquella de la cual he reportado la posici\u00f3n. Encontr\u00e9 la ascensi\u00f3n recta de esta nebulosa de 20\u00b0<\/span> 9′ 17″ y su declinaci\u00f3n de 29\u00b0<\/span> 32′ 25″ boreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comentarios de Messier en 1784:<\/strong> Nebulosa descubierta entre la cabeza del Pez boreal y el gran Tri\u00e1ngulo, a poca distancia de una estrella de 6ta<\/sup> magnitud: la nebulosa es de una luz blancuzca, de una densidad casi igual, sin embargo un poco m\u00e1s luminosa a dos tercios de su di\u00e1metro, y no contiene ninguna estrella. Se ve dif\u00edcilmente con un anteojo ordinario de un pie. Su posici\u00f3n determinada en comparaci\u00f3n de \u03b1 del Tri\u00e1ngulo. Vuelta a ver el 27 de sept. de 1780.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
