Descripci\u00f3n<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Espa\u00f1ol:<\/strong> Debido a la cantidad de estrellas diminutas que se detectan en M46, no intent\u00e9 hacer un dibujo el d\u00eda en que tom\u00e9 las notas de este c\u00famulo. En su lugar, este dibujo fue hecho a partir de la fotograf\u00eda que se incluye aqu\u00ed arriba, que tambi\u00e9n muestra la nebulosa planetaria NGC 2438, que no era visible en el telescopio de 6 pulgadas desde donde se hizo la observaci\u00f3n inicial. La nebulosa planetaria, que tiene una magnitud aparente de 10.8, apareci\u00f3 f\u00e1cilmente en la fotograf\u00eda, que fue tomada desde el mismo sitio de observaci\u00f3n. Posterior al descubrimiento de la fotograf\u00eda, intent\u00e9 nuevamente a ver si pod\u00eda verla, obteniendo un resultado positivo con un filtro nebular de banda estrecha (narrowband) con el telescopio de 9.25 pulgadas de apertura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

English:<\/strong> Due to the number of tiny stars that are detected in M46, I did not attempt to complete a sketch the day I took the notes about this cluster. Instead, this drawing was made from the photograph that is included above, which also shows the planetary nebula NGC 2438, an object that was not visible in the 6-inch telescope from where I made the initial observation. The planetary nebula, which has an apparent magnitude of 10.8, easily appeared in the photograph, which was taken from the same observing site, but with a 9.25-inch telescope. After that unexpected  photographic \u201cdiscovery\u201d, I tried to see it visually, with positive results with the 9.25 inch telescope and a narrowband filter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comentarios de Messier en 1784:<\/strong> C\u00famulo de estrellas muy peque\u00f1as, entre la cabeza del gran Can y las dos patas traseras de Monoceros, determinada comparando esta estrella con la 2.da<\/sup> estrella del Nav\u00edo, de 6.ta<\/sup> magnitud, seg\u00fan Flamsteed; no se pueden ver estas estrellas solo con un buen anteojo; el c\u00famulo contiene un poco de nebulosidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
